Manchester United has the advantage when it comes to historic global popularity. The club has won 20 league titles and has had some of the most recognizable players and managers in football history. Even during difficult seasons, United still attracts a huge audience whenever they play.
Liverpool has an equally passionate fanbase. The club's history, European success, famous atmosphere at Anfield, and recent Premier League success have helped build an enormous international following. Liverpool fans also seem to be everywhere whenever the team plays an important match.
That makes me wonder which club people actually consider the bigger team today. Is it still Manchester United because of its history and worldwide fanbase, or has Liverpool caught up because of its recent performances?
Another interesting part is how fans watch their matches. Depending on where you live, getting access to every EPL game can be surprisingly difficult. Some matches are available through local broadcasters, while others require a separate streaming subscription.
