I’ve been thinking about getting a large artificial tree for my living room. I like the look of real plants, but I’m terrible at keeping them alive, especially the bigger ones.

The main thing I’m wondering is whether the better-quality artificial trees actually look convincing in person or still have that obvious fake-plastic look. Also curious how much maintenance they really need besides occasional dusting.

Has anyone here had a good experience with artificial trees?

I ended up getting one from https://fauxnatural.com/ and honestly the difference from the cheap fake trees I’ve seen is pretty big. Mine has realistic foliage and enough variation that it doesn’t look like a mass-produced plastic plant. The biggest win for me is not having to worry about sunlight, watering, or leaves dying. I just dust it occasionally and it still looks basically the same. They have quite a few styles too, including palms, ficus, olive, bonsai, and larger indoor trees.
