URL2PSP(tm) v01.1 for the PSP v1.5 and 2.0 using eLoader.

RELEASE NOTES FOR DOWNLOAD SITES:

URL2PSP allows the downloading of files from http:// and ftp:// (public) urls directly
to the PSP using firmware 1.5 and 2.0 (using eLoader).

Changes in v01.1 of this program:

* Fully compatible with V2.0 firmware of the PSP when running eLoader.

* Urls can be listed in "PSP/GAME/URL2PSP/urls.txt" if you don't want to use the website.

* Paths are not hard coded in the application anymore in order to make it work better with
  the PSP 2.0 and eLoader.

* The downloads directory has been relocated to be under PSP/GAME/URL2PSP. The FULL path now
  is /PSP/GAME/URL2PSP/DOWNLOADS

* When possible and supported by the host server, file resumes are supported and automatic.

* If possible, the program will follow "redirects" in http download operations. This will
make a few more urls possible that weren't before.

* Encoded urls that contain %'s will be decoded fully (this was fixed).

* Free space on the memory stick and a "low space" warning are now shown on the screen.

* The "exit" button has been changed to be the "start" button in order to make the
application work with 2.0 firmware and eLoader.

* If the free space on the memory stick is less than the file size you are trying to
download, the file will be skipped automatically.

Instructions

1. Copy the URL2PSP and URL2PSP% subfolders into your /PSP/GAME directory.
2. There is a directory named "downloads" which is created in /PSP/GAME/URL2PSP when you
run the program. This is where you will find any files which are downloaded.
3. At this time, the program uses "Connection 1" settings as you configure
it in the Network Settings for Infrastructure mode. If you have any
difficulty connecting, make sure the "test connection" feature of
Network Settings works.

eLoader Instructions for WIFI applications:

If you are using eLoader under 2.0 firmware, follow the eLoader instructions EXACTLY in order
to get URL2PSP to work using WIFI functionality. Make sure you have the latest eLoader version.

Using urls.txt:

Starting with v01.1 of this application, there is support for adding file urls you would like
to download by adding them in a text file named "PSP/GAME/URL2PSP/urls.txt". You should have
only one url per line in the file. For an example, see the urls.txt provided with this
application. If you delete the file, this program will automatically go to the website to
get a list of urls (see "Website Access" below).

Website Access:

Website Access does not work if there is a urls.txt file present in the PSP/GAME/URL2PSP
directory!

To add URLs you would like to download, go to www.bestsoftworks.com/fileshare.htm, READ
the instructions carefully (as they may change), enter your MAC ADDRESS and hit submit.
The URLS you enter should be in http:// or ftp:// (for public ftp access) format. Other formats
may work but is subject to LIBCURL resolving them correctly. To be safe, use the correct format.

You can remove URLS previously entered by clicking on the checkbox next to the URL and pressing
SUBMIT button. Hint: If you want to change a URL, click the checkbox AND enter a new URL in the
text box and it will be replaced with it.

You can store up to 10 URLS at a time in the database. The URL2PSP program will only download
up to 10 so entering more will do no good. DO NOT hit return after entering a URL -- hit the
SUBMIT button. This will be foolproofed more in the future.

*** At the present time, you must remove the URLS from the website yourself or wait for the
system to purge them automatically after 7 days. In a future version, the URL2PSP program
will purge them automatically for you. Please provide feedback as to how you would like this
to work.

Why don't certain URLS work?

Some web sites protect their file downloads by making sure that the files are downloaded
directly from their pages. They do this by checking the REFERER (source), requiring login
information or by "redirecting" to a different page. URL2PSP uses a few tricks to make
downloading from more of these sites possible. Not all files from all sites will be possible.

Disclaimers and credits:

Although this program has been heavily tested, there may still be issues with it. This program
makes use of the LIBCURL 7.15.1 libraries to work. This program was based on (heavily modified)
example code for WLAN functionality. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to your PSP
caused by this "homebrew" application. Please report any bugs to deb3069@juno.com.

You may email deb3069@juno.com or contact dbeyer3069 on pspdev.org with feedback/bug reports/
feature suggestions, etc.

Enjoy.
