Description:
Heads up, PSP shooter fans! We've just found an interesting mod for PSP Quake. The mod was created by jomart2000, and it's supposed to be a fully-functional Halo mod for the game.
Two maps are included in the mod: "Halo Hig," which acts as a training stage for you to try out the controls, and "Halo Pri," a map where you can add bots and go out with guns a-blazing.
The mod comes with the following list of feature changes, though it's new to us, as we weren't able to cover its debut release:
* complete menu change as well as loading (everything is new)
* better graphics (all around design of the stages, weapons, and so on)
* only 5 bots allowed (the last one featured up to 7 bots but it caused an extreme case of lag in both 1 player and multiplayer.)
* new icons (for the actual homebrew)
* download size decreased from around 65mb to around 35mb (memory conservation is always good)
* support for the psp fat and slim running a 3.XX-X custom firmware (so you just drop the homebrew right into the GAME folder and your all done)
* better audio (although some at this point dont load, they still sound a lot better)
* Settable RAM (although this is not completed yet)
* 2 different bots (Master bot=hard as hell to kill Demo bot=easy to kill)
* 2 Maps (both are HUGE)
* Bug fixes (what update is complete without them)
In any case, you can download the files below, as well as view some videos of the mod in action. The documentation doesn't really have an explanation for implementing the mod though, so folks who want to try this out better have some understanding of how to mod PSP Quake.
