Description:
Back at the Watchful Towers of QJ, a carrier pigeon has arrived carrying a mail from bLiNd (thanks!) informing us about the all important Auto-Installer for the fan-favorite and classic FPS homebrew for PSP, Quake v2. According to bLiNd, NGEvo has released "to the public to help make life easier for the people who would just like to have their homebrew installed by the click of a few buttons."
You still get the same exciting First Person Shooter that tips the scale of awesomeness by Peter Mackay and Chris Swindle, what's different with this one as explained by NGEvo himself is that the config menu system program is much simpler, allowing the 'Quakers' (not the oatmeal) to join servers easier. It's quite a handy upgrade especially since p'wnage is rampant in this game, and everybody knows the horror of having problems trying to get back to the game when you're itching to score back a p'wn. Interesting enough? Here's how to install it:
1. Use the installer.
2. Load quake from the Eboot loader found inside.
3. In the quake menu, go to multiplayer and set infrastructure on.
4. Go back to the Menu and start a New Game.
5. Once you get the game running, press select and the in game program will be loaded.
6. Repeatedly press select until you get to the Server Menu (see left image above).
7. Press "right arrow" on the "digital move pad" to select it.
8. Then you can choose out of 4 servers with the buttons: Square, Circle, Triangle, Cross (see right image above).
9. Run, gather health and ammo, and most importantly, start shooting anything that runs through your path!
NGEvo has a detailed instructions about every possible source of confusion from the most beginner of beginners, just check the readme files inside the download file. There are also options like configuring your own preferred controls, adding more servers, creating playernames, adding new maps and more.
NGEvo also wish to clarify though that he does not take credit for the Homebrew Game itself, he has just simply taken the wonderfull work of the creators and has made the installation process slightly easier. He also want to give thanks to Garret Peters for the in-game program. That said, prepare your PSPs and start making waves, or in this case, Quakes!
